Genno Roshi is verheugd een meditatieretraite in het Engels aan te kondigen die de Dana Sangha en de sangha’s van haar opvolgers (Amy Hollowell Roshi, Frank De Waele Roshi, Corinne Frottier Sensei, Michel Oltheten Sensei, João Rodrigues Sensei, Tania Gent Sensei en Scott Williams Sensei) bij elkaar brengt.

Deze retraite biedt een mooie gelegenheid om de verschillende sangha’s en hun leraren te ontmoeten, om samen te oefenen en de eenheid en diversiteit van ons pad te ervaren. Er komen sanghavrienden uit o.a. Frankrijk, Nederland, Engeland, Duitsland, Portugal, Polen en Finland.
De retraite zal ook de dertigste verjaardag vieren van Genno Roshi’s transmissie en dus dertig jaar onderricht in de Dana Sangha. We zullen daarom de retraite afsluiten met een feest op donderdagavond 14 april.

De retraite vindt plaats in het Château Frandeux in de Famennes, in het gehucht Frandeux dat ongeveer 10 km van Rochefort ligt. Het kasteel en de andere faciliteiten kijken uit op een meer en liggen in het hart van een 25 hectare groot bos.

Aankomst en vertrek
Deelnemers worden verzocht vrijdag 8 april na 16 uur aan te komen.
De retraite eindigt op vrijdag 15 april in de vroege ochtend vóór 10 uur.

Corona
Wij hoeven geen masker op tijdens de meditatie.
Maar wegens de recente stijging van de besmettingen en het internationale karakter van de retraite, dragen wij uit voorzorg een mondmasker bij andere groepsactiviteiten (meetings, werkmeditatie, soetrazingen, enz.) in huis.
Wij vragen wel iedereen een snelle antigeentest te doen (zelftest) vlak voor aankomst.

Deelnamebijdrage
De bijdrage voor de week, inclusief logies, maaltijden en onderricht, bedraagt 425 euro.
Alleen voltijdse deelname is mogelijk.

PRACTISCH

Meebrengen
Mondmaskers.
Twee extra zelftesten (snelle antigeentest).
Losse, donkere kledij voor zazen, slippers en eventueel een eigen bankje of zitkussen (zafu).
Breng a.u.b. uw eigen oryoki kommen mee als je die hebt.
Lakens, dekens en handdoeken worden door het Chatêau verstrekt.

Maaltijden
We zullen oryoki doen, de formele zenmanier van eten met de kommen.
Alle maaltijden zijn veganistisch. Geef in je registratie-email duidelijk aan of je specifieke dieetwensen hebt (bijv. gluten- of lactosevrij).

ROUTEBESCHRIJVING

Met de trein

Het dichtstbijzijnde treinstation is Rochefort-Jemelle. Vanuit Brussel stopt er om het uur in Jemelle een trein richting Luxemburg. Op vrijdag 8 april organiseren een pendeldienst van het station van Jemelle naar Frandeux. Deelnemers, die met de trein naar de retraite komen, worden om 16.22 uur en om 17.27 uur voor het station opgehaald.

Als je wil opgehaald worden, geef dit a.u.b. aan op je inschrijvingsemail met vermelding van je naam (namen) en aankomsttijd in Jemelle.

Ook op vrijdagmorgen 15 april zullen we pendeldiensten organiseren naar het station, waar elk uur een trein is naar Brussel-Zuid.

Met de auto

Zen Sangha wil graag autodelen organiseren. Wie heeft een vrije plaats in de auto? Wie wil met iemand meerijden? Gelieve dit te vermelden in uw inschrijvingsmail.

Vanuit Brussel

Neem op de Brusselse ring aan het Leonardkruispunt de E411 richting Namur/Luxembourg.
Bij afslag nr. 22, Rochefort, de E411 verlaten en aan het einde van de afslag links af gaan.
Hierna de 1e afslag naar links nemen (steeds borden Rochefort volgen).
Na circa 5 km. bij scherpe S-bocht is een afslag naar links met 4 dorpsnamen: Briquemont, Laloux, Frandeux, Buissonville. Dit bord doemt plotseling op direct na de haarspeldbochten!
Deze smalle secundaire weg circa 2 km volgen tot aan uw linkerhand vlak voor de dorpskern van Frandeux het Château te zien is. Nu nog even langs een hoge muur de weg naar links volgen.
Je passeert de entree van de B&B `Ferme de Frandeux’.(bord “logies”)  Hier niet inrijden, maar de weg omhoog vervolgen. Na 50 meter zie je aan uw linkerhand een smeedijzeren toegangshek waar naast een bordje Château Frandeux te lezen is. Plaats je auto op de parking.

GREAT DANA SANGHA RETREAT

Genno Roshi is pleased to announce a meditation retreat in English that will bring together the Dana Sangha and the sanghas of her successors (Amy Hollowell Roshi, Frank De Waele Roshi, Corinne Frottier Sensei, Michel Oltheten Sensei, João Rodrigues Sensei, Tania Gent Sensei and Scott Williams Sensei).

This retreat offers a wonderful opportunity to meet the members of all these different sanghas and their teachers and to practice together and experience the unity and diversity of our path.
The retreat will also celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of Genno Roshi’s transmission and therefore thirty years of teaching in the Dana Sangha. We will conclude the retreat with a party to celebrate this together on Thursday April 14^th 2022.

The retreat will take place in Belgium at the Château Frandeux, in the region “Les Famennes” in Wallonia, in the hamlet of Frandeux which is about 10km from Rochefort. The chateau and other facilities overlook a lake and are situated in the heart of a 25 hectares forest.

Arrival and departure
Participants are requested to arrive Friday, April 8^th after 4pm as the building will not be available before this time.
The retreat will end Friday April 15^th in the early morning and we will have to leave before 10am.

Corona
It is not required to wear a mask during meditation!
However, due to the recent rise in infections and the international nature of the retreat, as a precaution we wear a mouth mask during other group activities (meetings, working meditation, sutra chanting, etc.) in the house.
We will still ask all participants for a Rapid Antigen (self) Test just prior to arrival.

Cost
The participation fee for the week including lodging, meals and teaching, will be 425 euros.

PRACTICAL

What to bring
Mask.
Two extra self tests (Rapid Antigen Test).
Sheets, blankets and towels are furnished by the chateau.
Loose, dark(black) and warm clothing for zazen, slippers and possibly your own bench or sitting cushion (zafu).
Please bring your own oryoki bowls if you have them.

Meals
We will practice oryoki, the formal way of eating with the bowls.
All meals are vegan. Please indicate clearly on your registration email if you have specific dietary requirements (i.e. gluten or lactose free).

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS

Coming by train

Brussels has three train stations (a fact which causes sometimes confusion): Brussels-North, Brussels-Central and Brussels-Midi (South). The Eurostar and the Thalys trains stop (first) in  Brussels-Midi.
From Brussels-Airport every 15 minutes there is a direct train to Brussels-Midi. The ride takes 20 minutes.

The nearest train station to Frandeux is Jemelle (sometimes indicated as Rochefort-Jemelle).
From Brussels-Midi there is a train every hour (in the direction of Luxemburg) that stops in Jemelle.
We will organize twice a shuttle service from Jemelle station to Frandeux on Friday afternoon April 8th.
Participants coming by train to the retreat will be picked up in front of the Jemelle station at 4.22pm and at 5.27pm.

Also on Friday April 15th we will organize shuttles to the Jemelle station. Depending on what’s needed, we will organize the timing ‘sur place’. From Jemelle there is a train every hour at 33 to Brussels-Midi. The earliest is at 6:33am, with arrival in Brussels at 8:28am.
